REPLACING MISSING TEETH

AFTER

BEFORE

Missing teeth can severely affect self-confidence and can dramatically alter your appearance. Our team are here to restore that confidence and replace any gaps in your teeth in a discreet and attractive way. Let’s get you smiling again!

Bridges

Bridges are made up of artificial teeth, consisting of a precious metal base which gives them a solid structure and makes them hard-wearing. If you need a bridge in your smile line, porcelain is usually added to the base to make it look more like real teeth, giving it a natural appearance that blends in. A bridge helps to strengthen the prepared teeth and makes chewing and eating easier because it is permanently fixed in the mouth. Dental bridges can also be fitted onto dental implants. Once you have a bridge fitted, you will have to take extra care of your daily hygiene regime to ensure it stays plaque free and that you can prevent bad breath.

Dentures

Dentures can be partial, consisting of a plate with a few artificial teeth attached to it, or they can include a full arch of teeth if you are missing all your teeth on the top or bottom jaw.

A denture is made from hard-wearing material that mimics the look of teeth and gums to give you mouth a natural appearance. Your denture will be made to fit snugly on your gums and you will be able to remove it for cleaning. Wearing a denture for the first time will take some getting used to, especially when speaking or eating and chewing.

It is important that you take extra care in your hygiene regime so that you can avoid bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease. One of our hygienists will be able to show you how to best take care of your denture and gums and will tell you about specialised brushes you can use to do this.

Dental Implants

Dental implants can be used to replace missing teeth as an alternative to removable dentures and bridges.

Once an implant has been placed it can provide as much stability as a natural tooth. Implants can be used to support a single tooth, multiple teeth, full mouth restorations and even dentures.

Implant Supported

Dentures

If you have loose or ill-fitting dentures, it can have a negative impact on your self-confidence and quality of life. A modern solution to this is implant-supported dentures, which involves the placement of implants in the jaw and having a full arch denture permanently fixed to it.

At One Dental we are proud to offer this solution to patients who are missing some or all of their teeth. This treatment restores the function of the teeth and gives patients a natural-looking smile. As part of this treatment, patients require surgery to have the implants placed into the jaw. Once they have integrated with the bone and surrounding tissues for a period of time, the dentures, which are created in a dental laboratory, are placed on top of the implants through a range of special fixtures. The dentures can still be removed for cleaning, but will stay put once in place.

Some of the other benefits that you will enjoy with this type of treatment are a natural looking smile, improved confidence, less irritation of your gums and you don’t take your teeth out at night.
